Some times when I select objects in model space, hit CTRL + C and then in another drawing when I use 'PASTE TO ORIGINAL COORDINATES' the command simply does not work.

 

Both drawings have the same units.

 

What can be the possible reasons for the failure of the command

 

Please Guide.

I would suggest using CTRL+SHIFT+C (COPYBASE) and CTRL+V (PASTECLIP) to paste when copying from one drawing to the next. You can use 0 as your basepoint on each.

Sounds like the source and target drawings are not in the same coordinate system. Either the UCS is different or the reference coordinate system is not the same (both in World UCS, but based on different grid systems)...
