Danse_Macabre Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I am currently working on a drawing that has over 1500 of these 'bad layers'. I don't know what they are or how they got there, all I know is that I don't want them there anymore. I was going to use the LAYDEL command to manually delete them but I got afraid when a message came up saying: "you are about to delete layers which may be referenced in blocks. All objects on these layers will be deleted and all the referenced blocks will be redefined" I turned off all the layers in the drawing and there does not seem to be anything on these 'bad layers', but I am still skeptical about deleting them due to the 'block references' warning I get. Does anyone know another way to get rid of these 'bad layers'? If not, should I be worried about the block reference message I am getting or just delete them anyway? And finally, where do these 'bad layers' come from? Quote
Danse_Macabre Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 yeah I think purgeable is a word, in this forum anyway. I will have to try that tomorrow. Quote
ReMark Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Save a copy of the drawing under a different name. Run LAYDEL and see what happens. If you don't like the results you haven't really lost anything as you have the original drawing. Quote
Danse_Macabre Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 Good idea, I think that is what I will do. I'll let you guys know what happens. Quote
