View Full Version : Cutting hole in Roof

I can't seem to cut out the roof where the walls of the 2nd floor extrude up past the roof.
what is the best way to accomplish this. See below. The red line indicates where I want to cut the roof

I think You have two ways
1st. Go to Modify----> openieng---->opening by face, mark roof draw the lines and finnish
2nd. Go to the family create an void extrusion ( with demand size) form Genreric face based family, load it into the project and add to the roof.

Yiu could also use a shaft opening

Use the Vertical Opening.
This is how it looks in 2009.
