Questions regarding coordinate or snap problem in AutoCAD Mechanical 2007

Hi everyone,

Recently, I noticed that with some of my drawing files if I'm working with a 3D solid model and I'm using one of the isometric views, then snap to the model to draw, for example, a line or rectangle, the line or rectangle is actually drawn a couple of inches or so above the model. So, when I snap to the model, it's snapping to the model with some type of *offset* in the Z axis.

I think I must have accidentally turned on some type of offset function within AutoCAD. Can anyone tell me what is likely causing this problem and tell me how I can correct it ?

Thanks

John

Yes ReMark, the snap is turned on

I don't use the grid function but that's not an issue here.

I can see the snap marker snapping to the part on screen, but it's not really snapping to the part, it's snapping a couple of inches or so above the part in the positive Z axis.

If anyone has any ideas pleas let me know.

Thanks

John
