View Full Version : Advance notice of forum closure

This forum will be closed over the weekend of 20th-21st August. Don't worry, we'll be back on Monday (with any luck  ) for the new week.
The reason for the closure is so that I can move the whole CADTutor site over to a new host. This is important because it will allow me greater flexibility in developing the site in the future.
Over the next few months you'll see a lot of changes to the CADTutor site, including some great new features. I'll make a separate announcement about these at a later date.

So you finally had enough of your existing host!
You never can tell how hosting is going to turn out, it's always somewhat of a gamble. I have to say that the hosting of the static part of the CADTutor site has been excellent but the performance of the forum (dynamic) has not been as good as I would have liked. Since I'm planning to transform the whole CADTutor site to dynamic PHP, it seemed like a good idea to move.
I have actually been using the new host for a while now with other sites and so I'm pretty confident that things will work out - I expect you'll let me know if they don't

No, we're now running on a new server with a new host. The move went very smoothly with no hitches. As usual, though, please do let me know if you notice anything unusual or different.
It certainly does seem to be faster. Time will tell
