Is there a website that lists the graphics cards that are compatible with AutoCAD 2008?
What graphics card is ideal?

This should really only concern you if you're doing 3D. There are no special requirements above and beyond what Windows recommends for 2D work.
Check this out.

The "ideal" graphics card meets your performance needs and price point. Everyone has different needs. If you work in 3D get one that supports OpenGL as they come with drivers written specifically for AutoCAD. Be aware that these cards typically cost more $$$.

OpenGL is a method for rendering 3D images is how I understand it. I think it was developed by Silicon Graphics.
