Polygon problem ... 3ds 2010

Hi.

I'm modelling a car in 3ds 2010 . I've already started a chasis and I have a problem after converting it to editable poly. There's clearly too much polygons !

 

 

That's before I convert it:

Your first screenshot shows the chasis as a Surface. Did you Import it from another program? :unsure:

 

When you convert a Surface to an Editable Poly, you will always get this type of result. If you want an Editable Poly model, then you need to start out with Editable Poly's. Otherwise you will just have to live with your Surface model.

 

Luckily, you haven't progressed very far, so I would suggest you start over and build the chasis in Editable Poly mode.
