Carbz Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 So I'm just starting with AutoCAD (never used it actually) but I have pictures of what I will be making... I was wondering if this is complex AutoCAD or very basic AutoCAD? (with that I hope to find a laptop which will fill in the needs for the next year and a half) Unfortunately I can't post any pictures (weird!) but if you go to Google and type in "Booth Design Autocad" "Display Design AutoCAD" & "Exhibit Design AutoCAD" You will see what I'm talking about. I don't think this is very complex AutoCAD (Compare to what I have seen in the section where people post there .. buildings, house... CITIES, etc) Quote
Cad64 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Doesn't matter. You can add images even if you have 0 posts. You just can't post links to external file hosting sites until you have 10 posts. Quote
Carbz Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 This is as much AutoCAD as I will do Is this considered basic AutoCAD? Or Complex? Do I need a STRONG laptop for it? (That I will only use for a year and a half) What might the specs be? Quote
Cad64 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Well, because it's 3D, I would not classify this as basic Autocad. Do you have any 3D experience, maybe with a different program? Check the Hardware & Operating Systems forum for lots of advice on laptops. Quote
Ritch7 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 no this is not basic, as cad64 has stated, have you no experience in autocad at all? and you are going to try to jump in the 3-d deep end? that will be a tough task in my opinon. what's it for if you dont mind me asking? school/work/hobby etc? skipsophrenic Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Carbz, when it comes to 3d work it can be dirricult but over time if you persist then you will get used to it. And soon yu may even enjoy it. (I know i do!) but for starters, i'd suggest taking a look at the tutorials located here: http://www.cadtutor.net/tutorials/autocad/index.php Quote
