steve 'o' Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hi I have been drawing a site setup over the top of the existing site drawing (issued from design team). All was fine but for some reason now when i go to zoom out, i zoom out of the existing drawing but the drawing i have done over the top does not, moving everything i have drawn out of position. If i draw a new line and zoom out it stays in its correct place on the drawing Anyone no what i have done wrong? (As i assume its me error!!) Thanks Steve Quote
steve 'o' Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Oh also is it helps i cannot edit any of the work i have done either i.e highlight delete etc etc Quote
GhostRider Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Sounds like you are in the wrong paperspace viewport , were you working in model space before Quote
Tiger Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I was thinking that it was a Model Space/Paper space thing, but it doesn't seem like it really....You are doing everything in Model Space right? Do you have everything on layer Defpoints? I have just today had some issues with Defpoint acting real strange.. Quote
steve 'o' Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 I h8 to have to admit it but i am working in paper space I started working in there with out even thinking, by the time i actualy thought what the hell i am doing i already had 2 hours worth of work done so didnt want to stop!! Is there anyway i can trnasfer what i have carried out in paper space into model space? Thanks for replys gents Quote
Tiger Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 check out the command CHSPACE, it copies stuff through the viewport. Quote
GhostRider Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 To do what you are doing working in paper space is probably a good approach you just have to be sure your on the right viewport while working. Quote

steve 'o' Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 How do i select viewport? Sorry you are talking to a newb!!! Quote
GhostRider Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I don't work with them alot but I believe you need to make sure the the layer the viewport was created on is on and thawed, then the border will show and you can select it in a crossing window... you have to be in the paperspace, not in the viewport to so this... I hope I'm using the correct terms that you can understand.. It's easier to show something than to explain.. Quote
Scott W Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 How do i select viewport? Sorry you are talking to a newb!!! If i was you i would copy all info drawn on the paper space tab and paste it into model space. You could try copying/pasting as a block, this will help you reference the block to the correct dimensions within model space. Then explode when in the correct position...... Quote

I cant copy and paste as it will not let me select anything i have drawn I cant zoom out to see the edges of the page to click out of the viewport Quote
GhostRider Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Sorry i dont no what thawed is!! I thought maybe you couldn't see the viewport because the layer was frozen that it was on, but now I understand your zoomed in past the edges of the viewport and can't get out... ( don't ya hate when that happens....LOL) I cant zoom out to see the edges of the page to click out of the viewport Type PS to switch to paperspace and zoom out Quote
