beny0124 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hi, I copied one block from layer-1 and paste it into different layer(layer-2). but after, when i turn layer-1 off, the block that i copied, which is on layer-2 goes off with layer-1. BUT, when i turn layer-2 off, the blocks on layer-1 stays. Why is this happening? and how can i fix this?. Quote
chelsea1307 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 what steps did you take to change the layer? was the block created on layer-1 or was it created on layer 0? Quote
beny0124 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 It was created on layer-1. then i just copied and past it, and change it to layer-2 Quote
chelsea1307 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 this is why i generally create blocks on layer 0. Although the block as a whole is on layer-2 the components of the block are on layer-1. If you want the entire block to be one whatever layer you set, when you create the block make it on layer 0. this way when you change the layer the block itself is on the components match it. Quote
beny0124 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Then is there any ways to bring the components of the block to layer-2? any way i can fix this problem so that when i turn layer-1 off, that blocks on layer-2 would stay... Quote
chelsea1307 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 double click the block to bring up block editor, select all of the pieces and change them to layer 0 Quote
beny0124 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 when i double click the block, it brings up 'edit block definition'. how can i change it to layer0? Quote
