:? How do I scale down and plot a very large drawing, (40000x28000)mm in size in model space, into A3 template (420x297), so that after plotting, the measurements obtained on the plotted drawing with a metre rule equals the dimensions on the drawing. Is there a better way of doing it. I need an urgent solution please.

Think I know what your talking about :) ,you want to scale down your drawing to fit within an A3 template, the bit about using a meter rule lost me a bit.You can simply form a viewport within your template(in paper space) and then scale the drawing to fit within. You would then measure off this plotted drawing at the appropriate scale.Heres a free tutorial Mr T posted a while back from his website.

If you have any further problems with the viewport scaling just ask,it can be a bit confusing first time you try

Thanks for the reference. I tend to print kids work 'scale to fit' all the time. Except exam question answers, they must be printed 1:1 to then be copied on to acetates and laid over a kids question and used to mark them.
