Hi all,

I have just started working for a company part-time while still studying and I have alot of drawings to alter and plot, I've had some problems with the line weights when plotting (they're all the same) so I was given a acad.ctb file and told to put it in my C:/AutoCAD/Plot Styles folder, and chose this file from the "Plotter Style Table" drop down box, sounds easy. However I have a AutoCAD 2008 install that can with Inventor so the file path is different, does anyone what folder I should put this acad.ctb file into?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Find the correct location by clicking on Tools > Options > Files tab. Then expand the entry Printer Support File Path. You should see four entries one of which will be Plot Style Table Search Path. Expand that entry. The path to the Plot Styles folder is shown.

Great thanks, so should I change that to a location where the acad.ctb file kept?

I would advise against doing that. This is the default path AutoCAD follows and in my opinion it should remain that way. Keep in mind that there may well be a generic acad.ctb file already in the folder. Find and rename it to something like originalacad.ctb then move your version of the file into the folder.
