Mark1965 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Hi all Can you tell me please if there is any way i can have my layer colours in one colour in model space but show as another colour in paper space such as black at the same time in the drawing. The client wants the lighting layer in yellow but it doesnt print well on white paper when plotted and i would like to have it print in black on that layer. Thanks for any help Mark Quote
wkplan Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Hi allCan you tell me please if there is any way i can have my layer colours in one colour in model space but show as another colour in paper space such as black at the same time in the drawing. Thanks for any help Mark You could use plotstyles. Look at the plot-dialog. There are a few predefined, i suggest you take one, tell it which colour should be used for plotting "yellow objects" and save this plotstyle with a different name. This means the origin plotstyle is unchanged. In p-space the yellow objects still appears yellow, but if you plot from p-space, the colour is changed. By that way, you don't have to change anything within your drawing, yust call your own plotstyle and the job is done. regards Wolfgang Quote
ReMark Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 You could have all the colors of the rainbow in model space yet still plot everything in black by selecting the monochrome plot style. If it is a matter of not being able to see the color yellow while in your layout then change the background color from white to black for better visibility. Quote
Mark1965 Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Thanks for the replys, ReMark the layer the clientwants us to use for lighting is yellow but whenwe print it off the yellow is hard to see on the white paper, so iwould like tobe able to change it to print in black but still retain the yellow in the dwg. wkplan thanks you i will attemt to try this. Mark1965 Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Everything else in the drawing is being printed in color? Yes, everthing is in colour, i just need to make the yellow print black, its a pain as its only this one client that has it this way. Thanks Mark Ive found a plot style editor? will this do it? Quote
ReMark Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Yes it will. Find the color yellow and change its Color Properties from Use Object Color to Black. Leave everything as is. Save and Close. I'm assuming you are using the acad.ctb plot style. Is that correct? Quote

ReMark Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 In the Plot window, on the far right, where it says Plot Style Table (pen assignments) there is a box with a down arrow next to it. Click on the arrow to see a list of the available plot styles. The first two choices should be None and acad.ctb. Select acad.ctb. Then click on the Edit button to the right of the box to edit the plot style you've chosen. Quote
