Hello.
I recently purchased a Summasketch III digitizer by Summagraphics. It is supposed to be AutoCAD compatible, and I have used them before, so i know it works. Problem is that I cant seem to get Autocad to recognize that there is a digitizer on board. When I open the digitizer utility on my computer, it tells me that it cant locate the Wintab driver for the digitizer. How and where do I find a Wintab driver, or do I need it?? I tried re-installing the software that came with the digitizer, but the same thing happens.
Could someone please tell me how to set-up AutoCAD 2002 for use with a digitizer?
Thank you - Jason E, Bush

Hi...

I'm pretty confident you DO have to get the wintab driver to get the digitiser to work with windows first (it's a long time since I used a tablet). The first port of call would http://www.summagraphics.com and have a look at their downloads section, failing that, try driverguide.com - they usually have the exact one you need. Once you've got windows to recognise it, you need to go to options and choose the tablet as the current pointing device. Finally use the "tablet" command to teach autocad the extents of each of the different sections on your tablet overlay.

All the best
