bjenk8100 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Hello, I created a block in a drawing that I would like to reuse in future drawings. I opened up a new drawing with my old drawing still opened and highlighted the block and copied/pasted it to new drawing but the dimensions were not the same. Is there somewhere you should save blocks so that you can reuse them. Palletes? Any help would be aprreciated. Thanks, Brian Quote
bjenk8100 Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 I learned how to save as a file (wblock). When i inserted the block in new drawing it was fine. Any other valuable ways to do this and keep your blocks nice and organized? Quote
dbroada Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 WBLOCK is the best way to write individual blocks to a file of their own for use in other projects. Its up to you to create a file structure that allows you to easilly find them in the future. FYI, we have folders named Mechanical|Electrical|Miscellaneous and each of these have further sub folders. An alternative way to have blocks ready to use is to put them all into one drawing and they can then be pulled from that drawing using Design Centre or - my preference - add them to a tool palette. Once on a palette the blocks can pulled of into any drawing. Quote
