As a surveyor I draw lots of arcs in AutoCAD 2010.

If I try an arc using start, end, radius options I get the message:

"Invalid, start and end angle must differ."

Is there some sysvar I am missing?

Did you pick the same points for the start and end? ACAD cannot make a CIRCLE via ARC? -David

I just tried drawing an arc in 2007 using start, end, radius and had no problem. Can you provide us with some curve data so we can try to replicate what you're doing?

Do you think you could part with a little more information? This should not be like pulling teeth. We're here to help. The more information we have the better we may be able to help you. Thanks.

first, I drew a circle.

Then broke it and drew two radii from the center to points on the circumference.

45 degrees apart or so.

Next I trimmed the circle so the only part remaining was the arc.

I put nodes on the intersections of the radii and the arc.

Moved the arc away from the nodes and tried the arc command "start, end, radius" using the nodes as the start and end. I knew the radius of the arc.

It worked in ACAD 2009. Won't in 2010.

Thank you for the additional information. I'm kind of left wondering what is the point of going through all of the above though. Anyway, taking the information you provided I was easily able to duplicate the results you got in 2009 using 2007. Unfortunately, I do not have access to 2010 where I am at the present so I cannot test this out.

Is your version of 2010 current with Update 1?

I will check on the update.

I have been using this arc command since AutoCAD Version 10.

Thanks for your time.

Perhaps your "pick points" were inconsistent thus that would explain the error message you received from AutoCAD.
