Can't remove "attributes" from block.

I'm trying to remove some text objects from a block (site plan DTREE block) using Block Edit. When I'm in the Block Edit mode all entities are "highlighted" except the text objects. They're "faded" out and temporarily put on RefEdit0 layer, which is locked. They appear to be attributes because I can edit them globally but when I use text edit Acad tells me that the "block has no editable attributes." Also, when I explode the block the text objects disappear. Qtext reveals nothing. Any ideas? TIA.

Well im thinking their is a few things you could check to see why its doing that but if you just want the text gone the easy way is to,.....draw up what you want the block to look like and attributs or none or what ever then block it with the same block name and say yes to redefine block this should take care of any problems. If after you block it the old ones dont apear to have changed type in ATTSYNC and select you block and they should all update.
