I saw a recent post on Wood Grain hatch files, and the person
recieved a zip file to recieve those particular files.
I could really use the same files, So I downloaded them to a folder in my documents. (I hope that's O.K.)
Problem is, I havn't a clue on how to get them into my AutoCad
program.
Any ideas??

Thanks,
Dave Owens

How many hatch files are there (just curious)?

I suggest creating a new folder and maybe calling it MyAcadStuff and put things like hatch pattern files, fonts, LISP routines, etc. in there not only for safe keeping but also to have a central repository for all things AutoCAD related that did not come standard with the program. Easy to identify and find whenever the case arises.

As far as the hatch patterns are concerned you could group them together in one file called woodgrain.pat and include the "path" to this file (your MyAcadStuff folder) in AutoCAD's Support File Search Path.

I'm still kind of clueless.
I do have it in a folder in my documents (aprox 10 files)
but I can't send them into my hatch program in AutoCad

Has the path to your hatch pattern files been added to the Support File Search Path in AutoCAD? Yes or no? Do you know that by clicking on Tools > Options > and then the Files tab you'll find what I am referring to?

I have been at the Tools, Options, Files, & support file search.
I have...
C:\Users\PRS INC\Appdata\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2008\R13\enu\Support. (PRS INC. is our company name)

Could this be it??
the only other items left there are
C:\program Files\AutoCAD LT 2008\support
" " \Fonts
" " \help
" " \Support\Color

Good. Now ADD the path to your My Documents folder to the Support File Search Path just below the first path as listed above. Use the ADD button on the right hand side of the Files tab and add your new path statement.
