DJB Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I am using AutoCAD 2008: I have a block that has a room name/ID I want to keep: 00/C4/04/5 When I explode the block it changes to the room Tag: ROOM_NO Is there a way to extract the room name/ID from multiple blocks without having to do it for each individual block? I know you can do this using the enhanced attribute editor dialogue and copy it out, but this is very time consuming! Thanks in advance DB Quote

Tommy78 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Yes, you can use the data extraction tool, it lets you select all the information you need and you can export it to an excel sheet. You can find it in the dropdown menu tools Quote
Cadologist Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Not exactly what you are asking but if you use the 'BURST' command rather then the 'EXPLODE' command, once run, it will retain that the attribute information states rather then leaving you with only attribute names. Quote
