Exported Tool Palette

Recommended Posts

I have a few tool palettes that were exported and the files sent to me. The drawings that contain the blocks on these tool palettes have been moved so none of the blocks are working from the tool palettes. all the blocks for each tool palette are on one drawing... Basically, each drawing was converted to a tool palette... Anyone know if there is a way to change the source file location of all the blocks on a single palette? I can change them individually, but there are a lot of blocks.

*Found my answer.

If you figure it out, post the answer for the rest of the world. Might help some one else down the line. :)

Oh sorry... haha... Jumped the gun I guess.

What I did to get all the blocks to work was I made sure that all the drawings that contained the blocks in the tool palettes were in the AutoCAD search file path.

The tool images don't come up until you update them indevidually but, as long as all the blocks are in the drawings, you should now be able to use them.

If you open the .atc file, the file location for each block is located within. You can use find/replace to change them out.

What program do you open them with to do that?

WOW... There is a lot of crap in those files... It does work though... Thanks... If you didn't try it, with this method the icons have to be updated individually as well. Or at least that was my experience.

I used a batch file to find/replace the location string in hundreds of these files and never had to do anything else.
