I use the line type 'batting' in my work a lot to show different thicknesses of insulation. I am finding at present that when I draw it in model space, and then put it in a paperspace layout through a viewport, the scale of the line has altered. I can highlight it, change its size via properties, and get it back how it should be, but when I then go back to modelspace, and then back to paperspace, it has changed again.

I have typed the command LTSCALE 1 but it doesn't make any difference, although I'm sure this ist heproblem from previous experience.

Any ideas? Its driving me mental today and I can't finish my project as I can't print the drawings to issue them.

Cheers,

Alec

Yep, tried that. Its at 1, I've set it zreo and then back to 1. I have 2 veiwports on my layout, one at 1/50, the other at 1/20. It shows as batting at 1/20, but a straight line at 1/50. I changed the scale up to 1/20 from 1/50 incase that was a problem, but no difference. I have highlighted it in modelspace and changed the size via properties again, modelspace is fine, but it won't play in paperspace. Thanks for the thought though.

Try recreating one of your viewports. I have had this problem before myself and I think that was one solution to the problem. It also could be the drawing file itself. Try copying everything from that file to a new one as well.

Too bad your not using 2009 yet because there is a new command for model space line type scale (msltscale) which is a toggle to show the line types according to the annotation scale you have chosen.

Any chance you could minimise the drawing down to the 2 lines in the 2 viewports and post it so we can have a look?

Now I'm really confused. I've just printed the dwg. Although it shows in paperspace as a straightline at 1/50 and the right size batting at 1/20, it prints as follows; straight line in the 1/50 viewport, but in the 1/20 viewport, as a straight line on the section and a massive (1200mm scaled up, 60mm real size, properties shows linetype scale is 3) on the plan. ???????

OK, I've recreated the viewport and no change. I've copied the whole of modelspace into a new AutoCAD file - fine in modelspace, straight lines in paperspace. I'll try and work out how to reduce the dwg to the relevant lines and post it, but it may take some time!

HA, psltscale to 0 for each viewport, the REGEN all. no one had told me about regen all, I found it on a previous post from 2006. All is well, drawing printed and invoice written......

cheers,
