BWells Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Maybe it's just me but has anyone else run into comptibility issues with CAD 2010 and ctb files from the older versions. Heres the run-down..... I got a new machine with Windows-7 (64-bit) on Monday. Other than installing all the new drivers for the office printers and installing software it was a breeze until i got to this issue. In previous versions our company has a habit of just taking the group of ctb file from the previous version and pasteing them into the new verson via windows explorer thus saving us the trouble of recreating them all. (this is important because only 2-3 are actually ours the rest are from various clients) I've just done the same as i always have. I located the ctb file in the new program (autocad map 2010) and pasted the ctb file we've used thru 2009 CAD in to the same file. Now for some reason the ctb files are not being recognized at all. I've got thru and done this with dwt files already and haven't seen and issue though. Is there something i'm missing. Quote
nukecad Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 .........Now for some reason the ctb files are not being recognized at all........ Could be too simple an answer but you have set the pathname in OPTIONS to point to where the .ctb files are? Quote
BWells Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 Genius!!! As it turns out I open up all the hidden files on my PC and I find....... say the plot style in one place but realize the software is pulling the pathway from another file instead of the one i dumped all my info into. It's still taking some getting used to with windows-7. Nice call nukecad!! Quote
