ReMark Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 What dwt (drawing template file) do you open when you start a new drawing? Quote
rpool Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 I not sure, I am very Newbie. now select "acad.dwt" Would you mind to tell me more "drawing template file" ? is important ? Quote
NHM Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Either any AutoCAD File or Template you open has inches or mm as default units and you can check the same by setting the drafting settings wherein under the SNAP & GRID if x and y spacing are default set to 0.5 then its an Imperial (inches by default) Template else if spacing set to 10 then consider it as a Metric Template otherwise; Another way to ensure the same is type LIMITS at the command prompt and check the Upper Right Corner.... If it specifies 12,9 then units are Inches else if it specifices 420, 297 then default units are mm. Quote
Dipali Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 you can check /modify units under format>units Quote
ReMark Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I think you would benefit from reading Cord Struckman's AutoDesk University 2007 paper called Understanding and Mastering Metric & Imperial in AutoCAD. Mr. Struckman is CAD Manager of SB Architects and a member of the AIA Standards committee. http://augiru.augi.com/content/library/au07/data/paper/GD405-3.pdf Quote
