JCastle Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Im back again, this time I migrated from 2009 to 2010. I cannot get my model drawings to publish into PDF's. And yes, I have SP1 installed. This is how Im attempting creating PDF's: publish> (Publish to: ) Plotter named in page setup > Import.... (previous file with line settings)> Imported: Acrobat PDF> Publish "Errors and Warnings found" "ERROR: Device not found" This is what Ive tried: 1. I have a saved copy of the Adobe.pc3 file saved from my network that worked in 2008 and 2009 that I dragged and dropped into the appropriate folder. that file is no longer recognized so I have deleted it. 2. created a copy of DWGtoPDF.pc3. still no luck. 3. used the repair feature under the uninstall menu. no luck. 4 tried messing with various plotter styles and it keeps defauting back to Microsoft XPS Document Writer (I cannot figure out why) ----- Im running out of ideas, My next step is re-installing AutoCADe 2009 if I cannot get this resolved. JCastle Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 Okay another thing that I have just tried. - Set my default page setup to DWGtoPDF.pc3. It creates a PDF but its ugly. It also threw in all the layers into the pdf as well. - Set my default page setup to CutePDF Writer as well. it worked but the page comes in sideways. The previous versions never made me go through all this trouble to create a PDF. Something is messed up but I cant find the source. Quote
JCastle Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 Fixed this problem, thought I would give the conclusion in case anyone in the future runs into this same issue.: I had found the problem in my previous post was the plotter device was corrupted. 1st: Download PDFcreator. Its free. Install it. I have found that the plotter "DWG to PDF.pc3" is bugged and publishes with errors, pushes text from one page on to the next. CutePDF works as well but it would publish my 11x17 drawings sideways. 2nd: Open your template drawing. File>Page Setup Manager. Create or modify your existing PDF drive> Set Printer/plotter to "PDFCreator" and modify your settings to your desire. Best of Luck ~JCastle Quote
