hyposmurf Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I'm a little familiar with AutoCAD LT, but want to attain a better understanding of its limitations so that I can effectively use it should I need to in the future.I also realise that the limitations change from release to release. Here re my questions if anyone has some usefull feedback I'd be grateful: Is there a profile in LT?If there isnt how does it store the user customisations? How do I change the command aliases, as the aliasedit function I assume isnt there?Via the PGP?Anyone know the location? Going from full version what are going to be the main limitations I'll notice with commands?I guess the the express tools and reduction of 3D,but it probably depends on what commands I use most. Can I use page setups? Is there a way to get around the lack of mstretch? I guess rather than go the lisp route I wll have to use diesel more. Not an area Im that familiar with. Any avid LT users out there? Quote
ReMark Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I'm sure LT must make use of Profiles. Yes there is a PGP but the name make be slightly different. Just search for a *.pgp file on your hard drive. Quote
David Bethel Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Hey there! Long time no see! http://www.cadtutor.net/faq/questions/21/What+is+the+difference+between+AutoCAD+(full)+and+AutoCAD+LT%3F This may help a little. -David Quote
rkmcswain Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I'm sure LT must make use of Profiles.Under the hood, it does. But there isn't a "Profiles" tab in options. Quote
rkmcswain Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Is there a profile in LT?If there isnt how does it store the user customisations? Same way as AutoCAD. You just can't create multiple profiles IIRC.How do I change the command aliases, as the aliasedit function I assume isnt there?Via the PGP?Anyone know the location?Same as AutoCAD. Can I use page setups?Yes. Quote

Thanks for that link, what I do notice however is that theres no clear distiction as to what commands are or arent there as each version of LT varies.I think for instance 2010 LT now has the align command.Been looking fruther into it and it appears as rkmcswain said that in LT there is one profile that is set, but youre unable to access it to import it to other installations.
