Unmentioned
I was wondering if there was a guide out there, that translates acad comands to 3d max comands. The thing is that I am very familiar with acad but I have no idea how to use 3ds Max. Can anyone help?
Cad64
Translate commands? Have you considered buying a book? The 3DS Max Bible would be a good start.
rocneasta
i think you can by script add a command bar to access the commands in max that way -- don't know whether you can redefine commands like in acad pgp file
Cad64
Yes, you can customize your command aliases, just like Autocad. Just go to your 'Customize' pull down menu and select "Customize User Interface". When the CUI window opens, go to the "Keyboard" tab and you can define, or redefine, any Max Hotkey. nocturne00
Not to answer the question, but just a bit of insight on the matter. the time it takes to customize or personalize most commands used in acad 3d to 3dmax will entail a lot of effort, customizing 3dmax itself requires advanced readings and lessons from the program itself. I actually find it easier to work in 3d on 3dmax than in autocad, most movements will just use the general commands w/c are the hotkeys Q,W,E and R. along with the rotation of the viewport w/c is alt+pan(mousewheel). Eventually along the way, while using the 3dmax, you will have to learn its basics.
