Aitch Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I would like to know if there is a way of customising the standard symbols in Mtext as I wish to have a similar symbol to Center Line and Boundary Line but I'm wanting to replace the first letter with a 'G' for Grid? Hope someone can help. Quote
lpseifert Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I hope someone can prove me wrong, but I don't think it's an easy fix. The symbols you described are in the definition of the font file, and unless you can find a font with a GL symbol (or edit a font file to include one) you're SOL. Quote
wizman Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Not actually addressing your problem, but you may like to try this: http://cadtips.cadalyst.com/multiline-text/create-cl-pl-symbols Quote
Freerefill Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 There are font editors, but most of them you have to pay for, and it's a trip to learn how to use them. I like Wizzies idea.. it's kind of hack but it's such a simple solution, it's got a sort of elegant beauty to it, and it's a lot better than using polylines and trying to line them up with the mtext. There are a lot of websites out there that offer free fonts, just google "free fonts" and browse. Quote
Aitch Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 Thank you very much for your inputs. I think you have confirmed what I presumed that it would be a tricky font edit. It's not that important to start learning how to do this but I too like 'Wizzies' idea as a temporary solution until Autodesk realise there is a need for it, even if it is just me and maybe they will add it to their font file. Thanks again Quote

wizman Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Our thanks goes to Leonid, the tip contributor, for this creative solution Quote
