Hatch

I have a pline object (it is closed). I can hatch the area with the DOT pattern but can't do it with SOLID. I have other pline objects in the same drawing and they work fine with SOLID hatch. Why is this?

Sometimes the solid hatch is persnickety with odd shaped areas; if you break it up into a bunch of areas (bisect areas etc.) you may eventually get the desired result.
