DWG with Raster ---> pdf size issues

I know this is an old problem but any new ideas?

Make a dwg with a raster image to scale and plot to a pdf printer like pdf995 and the file size magnifies roughly 10 times bigger e.g

colour photo 2.24MB --> 23.943MB

Crop the photo and add Line work and the file becomes 19.751MB, with other pdf printers do this and it gets bigger.

huh?!

Scubastu, I use Adobe Pro however, before saving "Reduce File Size".

Adobe Pro 6, drop down menu, FILE>REDUCE FILE SIZE

Adobe Pro 9, drop down menu, DOCUMENT>REDUCE FILE SIZE

AutoCAD, "PURGE" (all), then "AUDIT" (fix errors).

You might also clean up the image in your photo editor before inserting into your *.dwg file.

I just checked a small 100 KB *.dwg file.

The *.pdf (same file) was a little over 200 KB. Fine for my uses which is only for emailing to clients.
