scubastu Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I know this is an old problem but any new ideas? Make a dwg with a raster image to scale and plot to a pdf printer like pdf995 and the file size magnifies roughly 10 times bigger e.g colour photo 2.24MB --> 23.943MB Crop the photo and add Line work and the file becomes 19.751MB, with other pdf printers do this and it gets bigger. huh?! Tankman Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Scubastu, I use Adobe Pro however, before saving "Reduce File Size". Adobe Pro 6, drop down menu, FILE>REDUCE FILE SIZE Adobe Pro 9, drop down menu, DOCUMENT>REDUCE FILE SIZE AutoCAD, "PURGE" (all), then "AUDIT" (fix errors). You might also clean up the image in your photo editor before inserting into your *.dwg file. I just checked a small 100 KB *.dwg file. The *.pdf (same file) was a little over 200 KB. Fine for my uses which is only for emailing to clients. Quote
