HBW Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Hi guys, Been plotting some trees on a site, got a decent representation now but just have to get a legend on there and display my scale etc. I have put my key down using att def, it's a bit wonky but I think i can sort that out using multiline text instead. How do i display on my printout please the scale I was using? Quote
ScribbleJ Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Hi HBW. Welcome to the forum. I'm not completely sure of what your asking since your explanation and question is a bit vague. I get that your plotting some trees in your plan and your working on the legend now and need to add a scale. The scale is going to be dependent on the sheet size your using. Or more specific how much area you want to show based on your sheet size. This will determine your scale. When your at the plot dialog you will be able to enter the specific scale your sheet is drawn to. When you ask "How do I display on my printout please the scale I was using?" does "display" mean something you want to be seen on screen or is it a print out of your tree plan? Also I'm not quite sure why your defining attributes for your legend unless your trying to automate the process somehow. If you could be more specific about what your asking we would be able to understand more about what your asking. Quote
HBW Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 Hi Scribble and thanks for the response. I apologise for the slightly bizarre way in wording my question, I am still trying to get familiar with the jargon of these applications. Here is an attachment of what I have done thus far - maybe that will explain in better detail what I meant. I basically wanted a "key" to the tree colours, and a perhaps less amateur compass and author data etc but not so sure on where to start the ball rolling other than what I have already done. I worked the scale out by looking at units of measurement in the print window onto A4 paper. The scale is more like 1:557 i think but for my purposes 1:550 is accurate enough. I fudged the rest in with the multi text editor. CORRECTED ADAS.dwg Quote
