SuperCAD Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I'm not asking anyone to do my homework, but I need a 3D solid model of a human. Preferable female around 64" tall, but I'll take anything that I can get a flatshot of. I'm working on a presentation piece for a client and I'm not having any luck finding one via Google. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help me out. Quote
mdbdesign Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 This maybe of use? Looks like she is flat... Quote
mrbucket Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 She is, nice lines though. I cant find a solid one though. I will keep my eyes open. Quote
Cad64 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Good luck finding one in .dwg format. You can find a lot of them in .max, .obj or .3ds format over at Turbosquid. But they are not cheap. Quote

Cad64 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 How many people are using naked models in their drawings? Well, I suppose if you were designing a strip club . . . . . Quote

SuperCAD Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Nope. I found one that was made of 3D ploy faces, I exploded it, regioned it, exploded it again, deleted a bunch of lines, traced the outlines with splines, lofted the splines. I got pretty far with the legs and the dress, but I couldn't do the arms/sleeves since I can't loft/sweep/extrude a "non-planar surface." Quote
ReMark Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Not that long ago someone posted a link to 3D blocks that included the human form (fully clothed). Anyone, other than me, recall it? Addendum: I think this is it. http://www.archweb.it/dwg/persone/fig_umane_3d/persone_3d.htm Quote
SuperCAD Posted December 9, 2009 Author Posted December 9, 2009 I'll be the first to admit that I'm completely ignorant when it comes to working with polyface meshes, but what the $%#@ are they good for? What can you do or cannot do with them? Quote
