Mirror command

I'm trying to mirror an object in sketchup. I have highlighted the item and selected the flip along path but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I tried that. I must be missing somthing simple somewhere. I just drew a simple flat square. Selected the entire object and selected the flip along option. Did I miss something?

Sounds like your trying to to flip it on the wrong axis try the all red, green and blue axis to see if you can get it to work. :D

Thanks, I figured out what I was doing wrong. Since it was a flat sqaure, it was not obvious that the object was being mirrored.

Ha ha, that made me laugh. Sorry but it did.

Unfortunately SU does not have a native mirror command. You would think that something as basic as that would be standard.

There is a Mirror Plugin however. I use it probably more than any other Plugin except for maybe Weld. Both are free.

Here is Mirror3.1

Scroll down, it is in alphabetical order.

Yea I understand. I work with AutoCAD every day and Sketchup is a whole new animal. I find myself hitting "U" for undo every time I use Sketchup, old habbits die hard. I do use the standard keyboard short cuts for push/pull, erase, etc. Thanks for the plugin, it works great! Merry Christmas!

Your welcome.

You know you can set your own shortcuts in SU as well. I have Undo set as "U" as I also came from an Autocad background.

Just go to Window / Preferences and you can add your own there.

also, bear in mind you can 'mirror' by scaling with a factor of -1. either in one axis, two, or all 3. i use this more than flip along. SU has a handy feature where it snaps to certain scale factors like 1,-1, 2, etc.

@boofredlay - agree - i set all my autocad aliases to match my sketchup shortcuts. i need consistancy!
