mahesh Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I had drawn a 3d drawing using Autocad. But the size of that file is 42 MB and it has created lots of problems to work with it: even plotting also. Can anybody suggest the solution to reduce the size of drawing file? Quote
JD Mather Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 If you are doing a quick save you might try Save As and see if it reduces size. Are you using xrefs? Is the work architectural, civil or mechanical? If you are a student you might choose one of the purpose built Autodesk programs http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity Quote
ReMark Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Purging might help as well as reducing the size of the scale list. What are you drawing that you have a 42MB file size? I'm assuming you've set up a number of layers. Can you freeze some while working with geometry on other layers? Is your computer up to the task? What are the specs on it? Do you have plenty of RAM? Is video provided by an onboard chip or a dedicated graphics card? Can you provide us with some details? Quote
