tharney Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I have an outside drawing that I need to change the units to Decimal. Currently they are in Engineering. When I type in 'units' and make the change, the same line that scaled 287'-5" now scales 3449.01. Why does changing the units seem to change the length of the line? How can I correct this to Decimal units holding the 287'? Thanks. Quote
lpseifert Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 287'-5" x 12 = 3449... scale by a factor of 1/12 Quote
tharney Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 Thanks! I wanted to see if autocad could do it for me but it looks like the drawing was originally done in inches. Thanks again. Quote
Dipali Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 open a blank drawing using metric template. go to tools>options>user preference> & under 'insertion scale', set 'source content unit' to 'inches' & 'target drawing unit' to 'milimeter'. Also make 'insunits' value '4'(mm) and than bring in this exisitng drawing there using insert comand. Quote
