Tutorial walkthrough ? (Inventor 2010)

Is there an tutorial walkthrough anywhere on the net?

I keep getting into problems with the tutorial that I need help with.

Now I'm on

Autodesk Inventor Tutorials > Parts 1 > Create a revolved feature

And on step 3 I am told to " Select Project Geometry to copy a parallel model edge to the sketch in the center of the part." but there is no explanation to how I'm supposed to do this..

Nor does the images in the tutorial fit what is on my screen, as I was told in step 2 to select the "Slice Graphics".

Any help on the issue at hand would be appreciated but as this most likely is not my last issue on the road so a page that explains each tutorial would be really helpful.

A tip for the ones in here with the skills and time on theyr hand would be to do the tutorials and make videos out of each of the different tutorials and publish on Videojug and similar sites.

You can use the View Cube to rotate your view around to look like the image in the tutorial.

Then simply click the Project Geometry tool and then the line shown in Red in the tutorial. This will project the line onto your current sketch plane (the YZ Plane in this case).

How much would you be willing to pay for these videos?

Thanks for a quick reply, now I am unable to start Inventor, I can see in Taska Manager that a process is starting but it dies after about 15 sec. with out nothing else happening. I will contact helpdesk tomorrow about this issue.

If this is the general feeling on this forum I will see if I can make video tutorials when I feel I'm skillfull enough. If anyone knows about any good programs for recording the screen I would apriciate a little heads up.

I use Camtasia Studio. You can download a free trial.

Sorry for being totally green her but I still don't get this right :(

The thing confusing me here is that in step two I am told (as I read it) to turn off Slice Graphics (If I am not to turn it off I don't see why this should be mentioned her and not in this way.)

Second, I am told to navigate to a plan view (unsure what they mean by this * ) but the tutorial suggests to put it in the view called Right (then this would be a plane view, and also according to what I thought, but then again, * the images in the next step in the tutorial is in 3D..)

My third problem is that the yellow/grayish "slice" is located at the far left end of my cube (when comparing with the image in the tutorial, and not in the center as it should be. This causes me to not being able to continue. I did try to ignore this and try and move on but my flange or what we are drawing ended up with a center point on the end of the cube

Have I done something wrong earlier in this tutorial or am I missing a step here?

Ps. In the next step I am told to draw a sketch with the line command and I am told:

"Start with a vertical line from the midpoint of the projected geometry. A green dot indicates the midpoint."

I do not get any green points anywhere (and I thought we where supposed to hide the Slice Graphics)

Has this something to do with my yellow/grayish "slice" thingy not being in the center of my cube?

Also, if I still go on and just draw a line from where I think the center point is the yellow/grayish "slice" thing expands to always include my lines.

Never mind my whining about the yellow/grayish "slice" issue.

It seems like I have done something wrong in the start when creating the cube, as I did not pay enough attention to the tutorial. I used the "Horizontal constraint" to constrain a horizontal line and not a vertical line as the tutorial specifies.

My bad, I'm adding this here and leaving earlier posts it unedited in case anyone else got problems reading the tutorials like me.

But I do stil have an issue with this tutorial, that is that I do not get the green "midpoint-dot".

The only place I get this is on the horizontal line that is Back according to the ViewCube.

On the horizontal line on top I do not get this green center-line-dot.

Is there a option that needs to be turned on?
