Jlock126 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I need help with 3dface and other surface tools. I'm modeling a street scene and can not use extruded solids due to the software my client is using to import in my dxf file. I am limited to using 3dface, surfaces created with rulesurf, and polygon/polyface mesh. What would you suggest I use around a curb, such as curb and gutter? Oh one more thing, I have to save down from 2009 to R12.dxf. Nightmare.... Thanks in advance Quote

Jlock126 Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Saving down to R12.dxf...? Does that present any problems given the nature of your drawings? Yes, when I used planar surface, it basically lost all the geometry upon saving it down. AND the file size is huge! 3dface and rulesurf seem to be maintained when saved down. I have not tried anything else. Quote
ReMark Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Have you tried Edgesurf? When you say "curb and gutter" are you talking about a roadway? Have you looked at the thread entitled "When RuleSurf won't quite get it" ? Quote
Jlock126 Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Yes, curb and gutter as in roadways. I have not tried Edgesurf. I'll give it a shot and read over the mentioned thread. Thanks for your help! Quote
