3DS and snaps

I use 3ds max version 7 with vray and I'm having trouble with snaps that I haven't been able to solve. I tried google and tutorials, clicking on every button and such with no results.

I'm really hoping someone has an answer because I'm a renderer and snaps is fundamental for what I do.

If I have two existing objects that I want to snap them together. The blue cursor doesn't appear on any of the geometry so I can't snap them. It's like the snaps doesn't recognize the objects.

But I know snaps is working because when I create a new object, I can use snaps to attach the new object to an existing object.

It seems very basic and should have an obvious answer but I'm not seeing it.

I'd appreciate a really quick response.

Never mind. I solved it by deleting the .ini file. It's working fine now.

I'm not sure if this was a Max question or an Autocad question?
