andyr74 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I know acad 2D and a good basis 3D (without rendering). Now I want to draw my house in 3D. I allready started drawing with solids. I suppose solids are the most usefull for wall, floors, furniture... I would like to give averything a material so I can render everything. I use standard autocad 2009. But would another version be better? Maybe autocad architecture or revit architecture,...? Quote
JD Mather Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 There is a significant learning curve involved with AutoCAD Architecture or Revit. If you want to practice and learn software for preparing for the future then I would learn Revit. But if you have no current need or future career needs to justify spending the next 6 months or so learning a software then I would go with what you already know and finish it in AutoCAD. Quote
tzframpton Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Is this for personal use or for a business? Quote

I would agree with all that is said here, except it is always a good idea when learning the BIM tools to add Autocad Architecture to the mix. I actually found it easier to learn Revit after Mastering Autocad Architecture. Quote
CADMASTER1128 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I actually found it easier to learn Revit after Mastering Autocad Architecture. Glad to see you found this easy, I am still using ACAD-A because I am unable to use Revit 2008 Quote
