I have a normal 3.5" stud wall style that meets up with a custom wall thickness style that will not clean up. It is a built up column but I had it working one way but boss man does not like it and just want's it cleaned up.

The one on the left shows how I used to have it but he did not like the hollow center. The one on the right is what I have but it will not heal. Any ideas?

Thanks

Im not extremly familyer with ADT having only used it for a little wile, but how did you create the wall? I tried to mimic your example to see what results i would get and mine cleaned up just fine. Im thinking we did something diffrent thought to get the same result. I created the first wall (3.5" stud) with a wall style the for the second wall (im guessing goes around a column or something) i used the same wall style but went to properties dialog box and changed the width. Is this what you did.?

I have wall styles with set wall widths - 3.5" stud, 5.5" stud, 4" stud (3.5" + .5 OSB/ply) and so on. Some have hatch patterns in them some don't. Each one represnts a different wall type.

I got it to work but not with a result that I am happy with. My column had to be 11"x11". The width is no problem but the depth was. My solution was to use a 3.5" wall beside a 3.5" wall and a 4" wall. All beside each other. I then turned the hatch off in the 4" wall (it has a hatch pattern in it). It works so I am not going to argue, I just don't like how I had to do it.

I think that my varible width wall style is the problem :?

this is one of problems with ADT, F7 your probably right about it being due to the wall width, i dont know anyone else who has a different solution when this happens
