Like I said that I am new to the forums here, and also new to Inventor. I work for a indoor air quality co. and I have had a few project that require nice renderings. These are a few examples that I have completed and I am looking for some feedback. So what do you think? Thank you for the feedback.

I like them as well.

Welcome to the CADTutor forum. I do not use Inventor but I can appreciate what you have to go through to do something like the above.

Super, nothing I could add - but you might search for Bill Bogan Inventor Studio Tutorials for someone who does know about rendering.

It was just a simple extrusion, then filleted the ends, then applied a bag texture to a transparent yellow. It looks alot better than it sounds. Thank you for the comments.

I agree. How many 30-day trials will it take?

Let's see...365 days divided by 30 is roughly 12 trials. OK. I have four computers I can access so all I need are 8 more. Anyone want to let me spend 30 days on their computer? I need 8 willing volunteers. Anyone?

welcome aboard and very nice work! I really love the second render. The first one is great but it seems a bit muted. Something about the angle and the direction of your light is hiding a lot of your detail. It looks like you have lights in 3 directions from the shadows. Did you create your own lights or are you using a standard light setup?

I was not really impressed with that one ether. I had to copy a 2-d had drawing and put this one in its place for our sales catologue, keeping the angle to show both the in/outlet in the same picture. And yes also I do create my own lights becaues the stock ones are all well and good but their was not one that fit well enough.

And you may not believe this but I have only been using Inventor 2010 off and on since the 22 of October. The last time i used it was in 2003 on version 5.3. It is a really fun program to learn....

cool. yeah its come a long way hasnt it.

I like the floor layout but there are a few things that bother me about it. The really bright light leaving the shadow on back piece, and then the scale of your bricks and the floor. You might play around with the color of the light and the ambiance of the directional one.

I really like the Display Light in Inventor and with some tweaks it usually works pretty well(for me). I find the environment and lighting setup in Inventor is pretty difficult to get a realistic render.
