Selction Of Xrefs

SELCTION OF XREFS

Is there yet a way not selecting an xref or the entities in it when I am viewing many xrefs together in model space? It would seem such a simple thing just to make an xref non-selectable? but it isn’t, or am I incorrect here ?

You can put it on a locked layer, then it can't be tampered with.

But it can still be selected snapped too etc

Here's a way, I don't necessarily recommend it though...

Put the Xref on the Defpoints layer and freeze layer 0

Now is very clever, but as you say not really recommended for daily office use, still thank you.

Tell me just how is that doing that please .. is it some how using the refrance point in the defpoint layer ? but i dont get the connection to layer 0 ?

Its a bug. Been around for a long time.

As far as a layer being locked you (as you know) select it but command you use will not apply to the locked layers.
