Pang Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi, Can anyone tell me Y i cannot Fillet this 2 line ??? can teach me by step how to Solve this Problem ? ps: here i attach the file tat i cannot Fillet with this 2 line Thks Cannot Fillet.dwg Quote
Fire_col Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Your problem is that one of your lines is above the other. What you need to do is go to SW Isometric view, choose the 'floating' line and move to point 0,0,0. the go back to top view and move it using the snaps to where you wanted it to be and you'll be able to fillet them with out a problem. Hope this helps. Quote
Pang Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Thks...it Realy Work....but izit i have to every Line also have to do this step ?? Quote
Fire_col Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I shouldn't think so, just try and make sure that all of your lines are on the same level. Quote
Pang Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 ...like tat realy take time....cos i have face this Problem when i taken file from Main-con....all the section detail some line can fillet...some cannot....it realy take time to combine them.... ..but anyways...thks for ur help....at least i know wat happen of the drawing Quote
ReMark Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Too bad you're using AutoCAD LT. It means you can't use a command like Flatten to get all lines to the same elevation. You'll have to do it using the Elevation option of the Change command. Set all lines to 0.00 and life should get easier. Quote
Fire_col Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 That's it! That's the command I was trying to remember. Quote
Pang Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 OO...u mean if Autocad Full Ver. type " Flatten" then can Move all line to 0,0,0 ?? No wonder just now i try at SW Isometric view choose the 'floating' line and move to point 0,0,0. it doesn't work...but when i move the line tat " floating" to match the 2 line...i change to to TOP VIEW then can fillet already...if realy have no short cut for it to solve then Problem... Quote
Fire_col Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Yeah but what you can do as ReMark has said, type: Change> select all>properties>Elev>0.00>enter. Now all lines will be on the same level, I was trying to remember that command for you but it eluded my memory. Quote
Pang Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Waaaaaaaaa.....REALY works !!! all line back to 0,0,0..OMG>..tomorow i have to try at my Office tat File !!! THKS THKS... " Change> select all>properties>Elev>0.00>enter" i feel like Magic words already Quote
ReMark Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Such joy! Such enthusiasm! Don't it just bring a smile to one's face? Quote
Fire_col Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 It does, I must say I remember those early days of using CAD and when I learnt something new like that, the elation was beyond compare! Quote
Ryder76 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I've been using ACAD for 17 years and I still feel like that when I learn something new or figure out a problem. Quote
cynthia martin Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I've been using it since 2.4, and I still get thrilled with new ways to do things. Quote
MikeScott Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 heh.. I've been doing CAD forever and I didn't even know that command was there.. lol It would have come in handy today too.. Instead, I opened the properties window and selected all of the lines and then changed the z start points to zero, and all the Z end points to zero. It's absolutely cool to think I'm not the first poor schlub with this kind of problem.. enough that they put-in a quick fix for it! It's like that feeling I got when I discovered that Trim and Extend had merged into one command... or my first Fence selection on the trim command. Quote
merdrignac Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 You might like to automate that. I've posted this before but it's worth repeating. Try this button macro C^C_move;_all;;0,0,0;0,0,1e99;_move;_p;;0,0,0;0,0,-1e99; Single click does all. Enjoy! Quote
MikeScott Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Very nice! thanks! goodness knows I seem to do it often enough! Quote
cwize Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I'm stuck with LT here as well - and had forgotten about the Elev property in CHPROP (or CHANGE). Thanks for the reminder!! Quote
