drukkenpoepen Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Hey guys, Is it possible to move the material with the object when you're moving a solid? Seems very logic to me, but I can't find it. cheers. Quote
ReMark Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 On the surface it seems most logical that the two, the object and the material applied to it, go hand-in-hand doesn't it? So what is the basis of your question? Did something unexplained occur? Quote
drukkenpoepen Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 I first apply a material on one side of a solid, and play around with the planer mapper to get the scale right, and make it nicely fit (In this case I had a texture of a rug). But now when I move the object I assigned the material too, the material doesn't move. So if I move the object lets say halve the size of the width of the object, I get to see the halve of the rug, and the other halve just the color of the object. If I put tiling on, I see 2 halve rugs. Hope this explains it better. cheers. Quote
MikeScott Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Manually check your material offset values on that solid.. seems like it might be compensating for your movement. Some texture placements (tiling) use the 0,0,0 point of the drawing as a starting point for the textures.. (though I've never heard that AutoCAD uses that system). You might consider making a new graphic, sized to the solid, and then use the "fit to object" option in the materials editor. Quote
