vertical horizons Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Is it possible to create text on an object, so that it appears as if the text is etched into the object? Quote
ReMark Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I believe the answer to that question is definitely yes. I think Inventor Expert and forum member JD Mather actually provided instructions on how to do it in Inventor either here or at his website. Quote
JD Mather Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Emboss or Extude Cut. Attach your file here if you can't figure it out. Quote
shift1313 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 you create your text in a 2d sketch first. Then the emboss command will let you either etch the surface or raise the letters offset from the surface. Quote
vertical horizons Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 It took a little playing with the "EMBOSS" tool, but it's done. Pretty cool. Quote
ReMark Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 These guys are great aren't they? Glad to see you got your problem solved. Quote
vertical horizons Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 I don't know if AutoCAD has an EMBOSS feature, but this is a great tool. Quote
