Break distance.

When drawing schematics, I have all vertical lines break when passing a horizontal one. I do this by doing a break at point, then moving the end points 2mm away from the horizontal line. Bit labourious. Is there a variable in the break command that will let me tell autocad exactly how big I want this line break to be? So basically I can click the intersection and the the correct gap?
