gVisit for CADTutor Forum

Just set up this new toy for you people. Not sure if it's really useful but it is interesting. Basically, it shows a map of the world and marks the location of the last 20 visitors to the CADTutor Forum.

I am sufficiently impressed with this little toy to make it a permament part of the site. I made a small donation and upgraded the map to show the most recent 100 visitors to the site and removed the ads. When I looked this morning, there was someone on the forum from Tierra del Fuego (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tierra_del_Fuego)!

The stats are updated every hour and you can zoom the map down to street level - have a go.

It seems that since gvisit was added, the forum has been much slower than usual -- is it just me?

I think that may be coincidental. gVisit is actually hosed on a different site and there's no reason why it should cause any extra load on the forum itself. I have noticed that the forum isn't quite as snappy as it was. This is most likely a server load issue and will hopefully be resolved shortly.

I'd be interested to see which member is at each actual location, but that could lead to security issues,so maybe not a good idea.Theres one for Vienna,was there last weekend,lovely place everything is so dam perfect there, except the costs. :)
