vertical horizons Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I know there must be a better way. Here's the scenario... I create a 2-inch pipe that is 6 inches in length. I then use the place component command to insert that pipe into my assembly drawing. If I need another 2-inch pipe, but this one is 14 inches in length, I "save as" the 2-inch pipe .ipt file as a new name in the same directory, then change the extruded length to 14 inches. By the time I am finished with my assembly drawing, I have an extremely huge amount of different lengths of 2-inch pipe. Is there a better way of doing this? Quote
kencaz Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Create a pipe run using a 2D or 3D sketch if needed. Create your pipe profile. Sweep your profile along your path. KC Quote
JD Mather Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Is there a better way of doing this? Skeleton master file with 2d sketches (and sometimes 3d sketch controlled by 2d sketches). Frame Generator. Quote
