IBR Sheeting linestyle

Might I suggest that you create it yourself using the Make Shape and Make Linetype commands found in Express Tools?

 

First create the profile you want. Next, use the Make Shape command to create the shape. Save this as IBR.shp. Then use the Make Linetype command and select the shape you just created. Finally, assign the linetype to a specific layer called Sheeting and start drawing your lines. They will appear with the profile you have used.

 

The other option is to join AUGI since, as a forum member, you can search the forums for a sheeting linetype (Yes, there is one but it is contained within a zip file called Hope2.zip). Download the file, unzip it and use it's contents.

Thank you so much, I have tried to create my own, but were not

successful, and lucky already being a member of AUGI could download

the file in 2 ticks.

Please retry the first option even if it is only as an exercise. I was able to do it last night. It might hold some promise in the future for a linetype no one else has created thus far.

 

Glad to hear that 1) you are an AUGI member (same here) and 2) you were able to find, download and successfully use the linetype.

To prove it can be done. First, the image:

Hi,

(first time commenter!)

Is it possible to turn the above pattern into a 3d wall? I can extrude it etc but then I cant insert an opening.

What do you mean you can't insert an opening? Can't you use the SUBTRACT or PRESSPULL commands to either subtract a second object from the wall to create an opening or Press/Pull a shape (like a rectangle) to do so?

Thanks for the responce.

 

Basically I have used a cladding profile to extrude and make a single cladding sheet, but i now want to use it as an external wall. With a brickwork wall for example you would just select it and use the turquiose arrow to stretch it to the required length/height but i dont know how to change the properties to enable me to do this, I can ony change the length as an extruded -then-> converted to solid object. Am i making any sense at all? I fear not.

You could be making perfect sense if I were using Arch 2011 but I'm not. I could extrude it and create an opening in it with plain AutoCAD.

Remark a brilliant job, for Hanna-Marie just a comment why not convert the pline code Remark wrote above and put it in a lisp then it is true dimensionly.

 

It can be done I know I have around 8 different patterns nice thing is its always true size and Autocad doesn't do linetype tricks with it can be trimmed etc as well.

 

More than happy to help but code is copyrighted so can not post. Just take start and end point work how many repeats are needed and then draw one pline.
