SFG13 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Hi, I have a drawing of a wrench in 2D showing all it's dimensions, there's one at the bottom middle with a R 1 7/8, and if you look carefully there's a blue specik dot below. If I click on it, it'll select the whole diameter. I tried different ways to display the diameter but the dot will still appear no matter what. Is there a way to get rid of it? CarlB Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 You have placed dimensions on the "defpoints" layer, not a good practice, will not plot. The "dot" is a "defpoint" signifying the radius point of the radial dimension you've created. (defpoints rae created with all dimensions). it's on layer "defpoints", will not plot, don't worry about it. Quote
ReMark Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Most likely that "speck", as you call it, is a Node put there by AutoCAD to denote the the center point of the arc's radius. You can test this theory by starting the line command and picking the arc's center point. The two should be the same. The node should be on the Defpoints layer. That layer, by default, does not plot. Ahhhh.....CarlB beat me to the punch. Quote
SFG13 Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 Hi, Okay I understand, thanks CarlB and ReMark! Quote
ReMark Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I agree with CarlB. It is not a good idea to place anything of value on the Defpoints layers especially dimensions. After all, you do want to print them out right? Quote
