harley558 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Is there a way to export an inventor object to autocad without having to do it as a raster? I have a shaft that has threads on the end and would like to display the 3d object on a cad drawing but keep the threads on the feature. The only way I have found is to do it as a raster but that is not exactly what I am after. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Do you really have threads on the shaft or do you really have a cosmetic representation of threads on the shaft? Are you referring to exporting dwg solid or are referring to saving an idw to dwg? If solid then go to Enviromnents>AEC Exchange>Save as DWG Solids. Quote
harley558 Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 I am not finding a AEC Exchange in Inventor 8. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Yikes, I didn't see that. That is ancient. Save Copy as Type ACIS (*.sat) and then issue the acisin command in AutoCAD. Quote
